Poking around online for information on something I’m researching I came upon this interesting blog of retail stores and malls. It’s focused on the southeast, with several malls in NC covered. Signal Hill in Statesville is among them, and I hope to have my own info up about it in the near future. https://skycity2.blogspot.com

Redirect Finalized.
The old site is no more. Any old pages on the funkybuu server will now redirect here to the new site. I hope to leave them up for a while until the search engines can catch up with me. I know right now there are a lot of results from engines like Google hitting oldContinue reading “Redirect Finalized.”
Update:The Money Place
The Money Place has been added back to the site today. With permission I’ve done some preliminary metal detector surveys on the property. I’ll likely be continuing that as free time and weather allows and will be adding any finds to a dedicated page.
Couple small updates.
Fairview House, the Burned House, and Dobbs Farm are back up.
The Accountant’s House
The “Accountant’s House“, one of the locations from the old site is now back up. If I recall correctly, it was one of the first places I photographed after switching from my ancient Sony FD Mavica I used for most of Davis Hospital to a 35mm film camera.
New Update: Clear Cut Farm
Clear Cut Farm is now up on the locations page. These photos were not on the original site.
Several Updates
New locations added today include Dr Myer’s Office , China Grove Farm , and Lost Cemetery.
Davis’ School of Nursing
A small update to the Davis info. A page about the hospital’s school of nursing, that began operation in 1920 and ended with the hospital’s closing in 1984. In addition, a new location not on the original site: The Underpass House. Also added to the Davis history page is a link to LeGette Blythe’s biographyContinue reading “Davis’ School of Nursing”
