Another likely victim of NAFTA, I haven’t been able to find solid information about this textile mill aside from the fact that one of their products was men’s shirts. Aerial photos show it in use as early as 1956, with a downturn happening between 1998 and 2000.
These photos were taken in 2003 after it had been abandoned.
In 2005/2006 the building was destroyed and the land cleared for an eventual steak house and fast food restaurant. Fittingly enough, the steak house failed but has now been repurposed as an urgent care clinic. The fast food restaurant also failed and now sits empty and abandoned.
This is a location I didn’t have a lot of time to explore and always meant to get back to with a better camera, but it was gone before I ever got the chance.
A good rule of thumb with abandonments is don’t leave for tomorrow what you could see today- there may be no tomorrow for that place.
