Quite an interesting collection of ephemera and materials related to the history of Statesville NC. They just happen to have a press kit for The Boneyard, which was filmed in the old Davis Hospital.

UER.CA
The last great bastion of the old guard urban explorers. UER has been a great resource since 2002, though the site has slowed down in recent years. I’ve been a member myself since 2003.

Wonder what an area looked like in say, the 1950s? Plug in a location and browse all the available aerial shots. I’ve used this with great success to discover new sites to metal detect on.

Preservation NC
A nonprofit that has been working since 1939 to preserve historic structures and places in North Carolina.

O’Boyle Photo
Shaun O’Boyle’s photos of the old Mt Loretto Girl’s Orphanage in NY are some of my favorite UE shots of all time, and I think they influenced how I take photos at least a little bit.

A massive UE site with tons of locations and great photos.

The Forgotten South
Large site, lots of content. If you want to look at old places for hours and daydream what might have been, this might be the place.

Perfect when researching genealogy or local events and places, with newspapers all the way back to 1690.
